Your data:

At Italian Summers, we truly value your privacy. Under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are obliged to have a valid legal reason to process your data.  We normally will process your data due to the fact that we have a contract with you, to produce and deliver your purchases. We may also use your personal data to send you sales and marketing communications if we have received your request, and therefore your explicit consent to do so. If you are an existing customer we may have a legitimate interest in communicating with you such as in the case of a follow-up on an order, re-shipment etc.

We do collect some of your personal data when you place an order and/or sign up for our sales and marketing communications, and when you browse our website. You may opt out of any and/or all of our sales and marketing communications from us at any time.

We may collect data that includes details you provide to us, such as your given name and surname as well as your shipping and billing addresses. We also may in some instances collect data regarding shopping habits and the pages and products you have viewed from your use of the website. We use this data to take your orders, process your payments and deliver the items you have purchased , and/or provide any other services you may request.

We would not retain your personal data for any longer than necessary in order to fulfil the purposes for which you provided it, unless the law allows and/or requires that we do so for longer. The time of retention may vary according to the purposes of the process.  

Under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to request that we delete or erase your data from our systems at any time.

Hosting:

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payments:

We at Italian Summers do not directly collect your personal payment details, and do not plan to do so in the future. 

When and if you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase of one of our products, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. Once the transaction is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.  PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

Third parties:

Certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies regarding the information required to be provided to them for your purchase-related transactions.

As for these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you may fully understand the way in which your personal information will be retained and processed by these providers.

Please be aware that third-party service providers may be located in, or have facilities that are located in, a different jurisdiction than Italian summers', or your own. If you choose to proceed with a transaction that entails and/or requires the services of a third-party service provider, your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction/s in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As soon as you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website, a third-party service provider or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

Changes of our policy:

We reserve the right to modify and improve this privacy policy at any time and therefore encourage you review it frequently. Changes and/or clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting here.
