Buon Ricordo plates, Italian Vintage ceramic
The latest trend for Italy aficionados is the rediscovery of the artisanal ceramic plates called: Buon Ricordo. These are produced for the Restaurant Union of Italy, on which a local restaurant's specialty is depicted hand-painted by the artisans of Solimene Ceramics co. from Vietri sul Mare, on the Amalfi Coast: to collect, hang as wall décor, but also to bring to the table
The Italian restaurateurs' association was born in Italy in 1964..
“The New York Times” dedicated the article “Lots of Italy, on Many Collectible Plates”.
The birth of the "Unione Ristoranti del Buon Ricordo" is due to the intuition of Dino Villani, a man of culture and master communicator: he created these symbolic objects, for clients to take home the memory of a pleasant gastronomic experience.
Important note: The Ristorante Romano - Viareggio has a hairline crack, that's why we sell it for less. If you are interested please send us an email and we send you a foto of the hairline crack.
